What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser. When you come back, the browser sends it along, which is how a site can remember that you are signed in or what you chose last time. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are “first-party”; cookies set by another domain (for example, a sign-in provider) are “third-party”.
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies on dairydash.in and the application at dairydash.in/app. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
The cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Typical lifetime | Can you opt out? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to the app, protects forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembers that you have completed one-time-code verification. | Session, or up to 30 days if you stay signed in | No — the app will not work without them |
| Functional | Remembers small preferences such as which dairy you last opened, a collapsed sidebar, or a dismissed notice. | Up to 12 months | Yes — you lose the remembered preference |
| Performance / analytics | Counts page views and feature use in aggregate so we can see what helps and what confuses. No advertising use. | Up to 13 months | Yes — see section 5 |
Third-party cookies
- Google sign-in. When you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its domains to complete authentication and remember your Google session. These are governed by Google’s cookie policy.
- Analytics providers. If we use a hosted analytics service, it may set cookies to distinguish returning visitors. We configure such tools to avoid collecting more than the aggregate usage we need and never for advertising.
We do not embed social-media widgets, ad networks or retargeting pixels on the site or in the app.
Other browser storage
The app also uses local storage and session storage — a browser feature similar to cookies but never sent to our servers automatically. We use it for things like draft form values, table sort order and the state of in-progress bulk jobs (for example, invoice generation progress) so a page refresh does not lose your place. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Managing cookies
Every modern browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block some or all of them for a given site. The steps live under privacy or site settings:
To opt out of analytics without touching browser settings, write to help@dairydash.in and we will confirm what is in use and how to disable it.
Changes to this policy
If we add a new category of cookie or a new provider, we will update the table above and the effective date at the top of this page. Where the change matters to you — for instance, a new analytics tool — we will mention it inside the product as well.
